Blake Shelton has revealed plans for a brand new album, setting May 21 for the release of his 12th studio set, Body Language.
Making the announcement Monday (March 29), the country superstar and TV personality says his latest project has been a long time coming. Body Language will feature 12 tracks including his hit duet with fiancée Gwen Stefani, “Happy Anywhere,” and his current single “Minimum Wage.” Meanwhile, Shelton sings with The Swon Brothers on the album’s title track, and songwriters submitting work include some of the most successful in Nashville history.
The set will mark Shelton’s first full length album in almost four years (following Texoma Shore), and he says to expect a mix of the timeless and trendy.
“We’ve been working on this album on and off for two years now, and I’m very proud of what we have put together,” Shelton says in a statement. “We certainly had some unique challenges with the pandemic, but we also had a lot of fun. We explored new sounds while making sure to get in some classic country. I’m also thrilled to have my buddies The Swon Brothers featured on the title track as both co-writers and vocalists. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”
Blake Shelton shared the news along with the album’s track list and cover art, which finds the hit maker dressed casually in a black jacket and jeans, looking off camera and standing before a black back drop. Pre-orders for Body Language will begin April 23, and just before that Shelton will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut single, “Austin.” On that day, fans can get a commemorative edition 7-inch vinyl of the track and its B-side, “Problems At Home.”
