Lauren Alaina has confirmed via Instagram that she has tested positive for COVID-19, and had to cancel her appearance at an acoustic show alongside her fellow country friends.
The “Getting Over Him” singer shared the news on her Instagram Story, noting she is working her way back to good health and quarantining from others to keep them safe.
“I am so sad to say I will not be at the acoustic show in Lexington, Kentucky tonight. I tested positive for COVID yesterday. I am quarantining and trying to get better! Please know I can’t wait to be back – when it is safe for all of us. I’m so disappointed I won’t be at the show, but it may help cheer me up a bit if you go and send me videos and pictures. Please go to the show tonight and celebrate my friends Jon Pardi, Jordan Davis, Travis Denning, and Priscilla Block,” Alaina wrote in the text-based post.
She also thanked the radio stations, which are a part of the event, but understanding her last-minute cancel.
Alaina later shared her gratitude to fans for their support, and let them know her symptoms of the bad headache, loss of smell and taste and congestion. She did note that she does not have it as bad as some patients, and is hoping to get well soon.
Just a few weeks ago, Alaina was nominated alongside Devin Dawson and HARDY in the ACM Music Event of the Year category for their track, “One Beer.”
The 56th Annual ACM Awards, hosted by Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton, will be aired live from Nashville on Sunday, April 18, at 8 p.m. EST.
