Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but as of lately, a lot of celebrities have found themselves in hot water after speaking about certain topics, especially when it comes to the LGBTQ community. Lil’ Mama took to Instagram Thursday evening to share that she would be starting a Heterosexual rights movement targeted towards LGBTQ anti-bullying.
This seems to come directly in response to the backlash she received recently after sharing Rizza Islam’s tweet on her Instagram. The tweet read, “So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or “change” their gender? This is insanity. #America” Many people felt like the tweet was transphobic.
Soon after the post, she went live with Rizza on Instagram, and during the conversation, she talked openly about not having an issue with Gay or Lesbian individuals. Lil’ Mama mentioned that she has members of the LGBTQ community in her family. However, when she got on the topic of children and sexuality, it still didn’t sit well with some folks.
She said, “When it comes to people who choose to be Gay or choose to be Lesbian or chose to change their sexuality and have the mind frame of an adult, and you’re able to do that on your own, I don’t have anything against you. But when we’re talking about these babies, we have to be very mindful about what they’re being fed.”
Lil’ Mama used an example that if her niece said she wanted to be a boy because they’re strong, she would explain to her that you don’t have to be a boy to be strong. However, she did say that if her niece expressed that she felt like a boy after going through puberty, she would support her. She did make a clear stance about children changing their genitals by saying, “We’re talking about making children feel like they can make a choice that they can change their genitals before even going through puberty.”
Roomies, what do yall think about this?
