Southside, whose real name is Joshua Luellen, was arrested on Sunday in Aventura. He was later released on a $5,500 bond.
According to NBC 6 Miami, the arrest reports states that Southside was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed firearm and knowingly driving with a suspended license.
An officer pulled over his Mercedes SUV after he was spotted driving with a “heavily tinted windshield.” Records later showed that his driver’s license has been suspended since May 2019.
The report continued to state that he had two fully loaded handguns on him at the time of the arrest, one between his shoes and another on the floorboard behind the passenger seat. Records also showed that his concealed weapons permit was suspended for unknown reasons.
The officer said in the arrest report, “I advised Joshua that he was in violation of his CCW permit by having the firearms within reach and not secured in the glove box or encased in a box inside the vehicle.”
At the time Southside has not spoken out about the arrest.
He is most known for producing records for artists such as G Herbo, Meek Mill, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Future, and a host of other artists. Southside is also known for his relationship with rapper Yung Miami of the City Girls, they share a 1-year-old daughter.
