Jake Owen, Jordan Rager Send Well Wishes to Tiger Woods Following Car Accident

Tiger Woods is currently in surgery following a serious rollover accident on a California highway. The professional golfer was involved in a single car accident early Tuesday morning (2/23). A statement from the LA County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Woods was injured in the crash.

“On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 a.m., LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Stone Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage.”

“The drive and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries,” the statement continued.

“The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASD Lomita Station,” it concluded.

Following the statemen from LASD, Woods’ agent also revealed that the golfer is currently undergoing surgery for his injuries.

“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” his agent Mark Steinberg said, according to ESPN. “He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

As news of the crash broke, fans took to social media to send their well wishes and prayers to Woods. Among them were country singers Jake Owen and Jordan Rager. Owen, who has played golf for most of his life, wrote “My heart goes out to @TigerWoods… praying for ya man,” with a bunch of prayer hands.

Like Owen, “Southern Boy” singer Rager sent prayers up to the “G.O.A.T.” as he called Woods.

According to TMZ, Woods was in the area for his annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament. The event is helped at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades. He opened up earlier this week about a recent back surgery that could keep him from participating in the upcoming Masters tournament in Georgia. During a chat with Jim Nantz on CBS, doctors conducted the surgery to “remove a pressurized disc fragment that was pinching his nerve.” He explained that he was still stiff from the surgery and needs doctors to clear him before considering participating in the Masters.

“A lot of it is based on my surgeons and my doctors and my therapists and making sure that I do it correctly,” Tiger said (quote via TMZ). “This is the only back I got, so I don’t have much more wiggle room left here.”

No official word yet on how serious Tiger Woods’ injuries are. We will update as this story develops.
