Are Miranda Lambert and Elle King Teasing a New Collaboration?

Could Miranda Lambert and Elle King be working together again? It’s highly possible, given the teases they’ve posted to social media. Beginning Monday (2/22), the powerhouse singers took to Twitter and Facebook to tease what could be a new collaboration called “Drunk.”

In the photos, Lambert and King channel iconic ’80s fashion, with big hair and even bigger shoulder pads. Lambert shared a photo of the two leaning against a beat up car with King donning a wedding dress and Lambert in a bright pink bridesmaid gown.

King, likewise, shared a photo to her Twitter feed of the two standing back-to-back. Lambert’s hair is styled in a perm while King is channeling her inner Cyndi Lauper. With her post, however, King included what seems to be lyrics from the song: “The whiskey goes down better when they don’t know who you are…

If there is a collaboration coming from the two women, it marks their second time working together. Lambert and King previously teamed up for the ACM-winning “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” also featuring Maren MorrisAshley McBrydeTenille Townes and Caylee Hammack. The song earned Musical Event of the Year at the 2020 ACM Awards.

“What a day,” shared Lambert, who pulled that artists together. “I’m so happy to share this moment with these artists I respect so much. Not only that, I’m thankful to call them friends. Love y’all!”

In addition to “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” King has also served as tour support on Lambert’s 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Gutars.

No word yet on when “Drunk” will be released.
