The world’s greatest holiday for couples, Valentine’s Day, is just around the corner. While the pandemic has thrown a curveball on some traditions and plans, couples are being creative about how they’re spending the special holiday. From country star Chris Janson to Nashville singer-songwriter Ben Rector, check out what they have in store for this romantic day!
Chris Janson reveals what a typical Valentine’s Day is like in the Janson household:
“Having a great dinner wherever Kelly wants to go. That would be the ideal place to be. It doesn’t matter to me, as long as we’re together. Most Valentines dates also include our kids. We roll as a family unit most of the time, and that’s the way we like it! Every day is like a Valentine’s Day when you’re in love like we are.”
Devin Dawson offers tips on how to be creative with romantic plans this year:
“As much as we all wanna go out to eat and celebrate love and be catered to … sometimes it’s the simplest things that hit the hardest. In a time where going out into the world can be scary, maybe the best thing to do this year is stay home and cook/create something special for your person. But mix it up. Make something you’ve never made. Throw a curveball at her and get out of your comfort zone and create an experience both of y’all will never forget.”
Ben Rector shares his favorite Nashville date night spots:
“Between the twins being born and Covid, we’ve not been going out as much recently. But our favorite night out consists of the avocado crispy rice at Butcher & Bee and/or seeing a movie at the Belcourt.”
Parmalee’s Matt Thomas has a simple dog walk, Asian food and movie date on his list:
“If I’m doing date night close to home we can go walk the dogs in Percy Warner Park, get some great food at the Eastern Peak and then walk right across the street to the new AMC theatre for a movie.”
Troy Cartwright loves a good Sunday brunch with his wife:
“Since Covid has hit, my wife’s and my favorite Saturday morning date has been to head to Five Points Tacos for the best breakfast taco in Nashville, and then head to the park with our pups. If we had the chance for a normal Valentine’s Day, we would probably go to Pelican and Pig. Their pork tomahawk is incredible!”
Drew Parker has the perfect 2021 Valentine’s date night planned out:
“Between welcoming my new baby girl into the world and being stuck in a pandemic, you can’t beat take-out from Texas Roadhouse, with a movie and some ice cream to follow!”
