Lakeview Heal A Broken Heart With ‘Message In A Bottle’

Emerging country duo Lakeview have released a poignant breakup song, “Message In A Bottle.”

Co-written by the pair’s Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy along with Robyn Collins, the track tells the story of a broken-hearted individual who turns to his favorite bottle of whiskey for both comfort and hope. Sonically, it also marks they first slow-tempo released, following uptempo songs such as “She Drove Me To The Bar,” “In Case You Forgot (My Hometown),” and “Rain Down.”

“’We are so excited to share a different side of what we can do and love to do,” Denaro tells Sounds Like Nashville. “It’s not always beer and good times around these parts – even though sometimes we wish it was! We wrote this with our dear friend Robyn Collins over at Warner Chappell a year or so ago. It was one of the first co-writes we ever did when moving to town.”

He adds, “We were nervous, to say the least, but what came out of an extremely comfortable, creative, and incredible writing session was this song. We couldn’t be prouder to share ‘Message in a Bottle’ with the world, and we hope everyone enjoys the ‘softer’ side of LAKEVIEW.”

Also accompanying this release is the “Message In A Bottle” music video. The clip switches between the duo pensively performing the track in a lonesome forest and a guy drowning his sorrows alone, aptly capturing the emotional essence of this heartbreak tune.

“We wanted to do something simple and beautiful for the video, and our awesome team absolutely crushed it,” Healy says of the video. “Whiskey, flames and the woods of Tennessee – that’s the perfect combination, if you ask me!”

Prior to this, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania natives released their four-track debut EP, She Drove Me To The Bar. Lakeview is also one of our 2021 Artists To Watch, alongside rising artists like Andrew Jannakos, Shy Carter and Priscilla Block.
