Hailey Whitters is making sure to make this year her best as she checks off another major collaboration with the release of her track, “The Ride,” featuring Jordan Davis.
The two conquer the concept of pushing through when the going gets tough in the upbeat track. Noting that the only way to reach the top is to battle your way through the bottom, Whitters and Davis remind listeners they are not alone in the fight toward optimism.
“But it’s the stars that make the night / It’s the low that makes the high / It’s the song that makes you cry / It’s the road that makes the ride / That makes the ride,” they sing together in the chorus.
Whitters knows that struggle well as she herself has continued to go for her dream of making it in Nashville no matter what roadblocks or hardships she may face along the way.
“if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last 14 years of chasing this dream, it’s that “it’s the road that makes the ride.” Thank you to my brother @jordandavisofficial for singin’ on this one with me… and for literally takin’ me out to tour that very road last year,” she captioned her Instagram post about the song.
Most recently, Whitters also worked with Little Big Town on “Fillin’ My Cup,” which stirs up a good time for all involved.
The country newcomer is expected to release a deluxe edition of her most recent project, The Dream, on February 26.
