Busta Rhymes Says He Had A “Reality Check” About His Weight After Having To Duct Tape His Stomach For A Music Video

Busta Rhymes has been feeling like a new man and it’s definitely been showing! Back in October, he revealed his body transformation and let his fans know that he lost a whopping 86 pounds! In a new interview with Tamron Hall, he opens up about his weightless journey, and even gives some insight about the moment he realized he needed to make a change.

In an exclusive clip from The Daily Mail, Busta speaks with Tamron about how he came to lose so much weight. He says the moment that really inspired him was during a music video shoot, where he was forced to duct tape his stomach down.

“When I shot that video, theres a scene of me wearing all white with a head wrap. When I initially put that all white on, it showed how badly out of shape that I was on camera. So we went in the dressing room and they duct taped my stomach down with electric duct tape.”

Tamron proceeds to ask Busta how that moment impacted his life, and he says it was one of the hardest things he’s had to deal with.

“It was difficult. It was probably one of the most difficult reality checks of my life.”

If y’all recall, Busta hit the ‘gram with absolutely no shame when he lost that weight. In fact, he was proud to share that he had made such a significant change in his life and he has been posting thirst traps ever since.

Busta captioned his weightless photos with an encouraging message to his fans.

“Don’t ever give up on yourself!! Life begins right now!! My dedication is different!! I would never put out an album and not be in the best shape of my life!! I respect myself too much and I respect y’all too much. I’m only here to inspire!!”
