In September, Michael Ray released “Whiskey And Rain,” the lead single off his highly anticipated third studio album. Since then, the singer has been teasing the forthcoming project.
“Man, it’s country!” Ray shared in excitement in an interview with Sounds Like Nashville. “There’s songs on there really about where I’m from. There’s songs on the record that are just good, party anthem songs and there’s ‘Whiskey & Rain’ and songs like that on there.”
“Whiskey And Rain” features a healthy dose of fiddle and steel guitar, and boasts a throwback sound fans of Travis Tritt, Gary Allan, Joe Diffie, and Sammy Kershaw will delight it.
“I think collectively, what people are gonna hear is the inspiration from the 80’s and the 90’s, some of that Florida southern rock feel,” the Florida native adds. “All of that stuff that I pulled from growing up is going to be all over this album.”
