Standing on the Corner Return With New Songs

Standing on the Corner—the New York art ensemble led by Gio Escobar—are back with new music. The group has released “Baby,” the spoken-word piece “R U Scared?,” and “Friends 2day Enemies 2morrow.” Find the tracks, released via XL Recordings, below.

Escobar launched Standing on the Corner in 2016. He and the group have released two full-length projects: Standing on the Corner and Red Burns. They’ve shared limited-edition cassette tapes and vinyl LPs in the ensuing years, and also put songs on YouTube, but they rarely have shared music across digital streaming platforms. Before today, they had not released singles widely since 2020 when they dropped “Angel,” “G-E-T-O-U-T!! The Ghetto (Pt.I),” “G-E-T-O-U-T!! The Ghetto (Pt.II),” and “Zolo Go.”
