Sarah Seifert Releases “The Valley”

Sarah Seifert makes things seem so crystal clear in her new, moving Christian-pop song “The Valley”. One would be hard pressed to not find this inspiring, lyrical gem one of 2022’s best yet. Featuring Seifert’s exceptional vocal prowess, an engaging piano bed and a warm synth bedrock, “The Valley” is filled with emotive colors and transformative lyrics. We all have those days when life gets us down, when we feel we’ve hit the bottom. This song elevates and changes one’s outlook instantly. What a wonderful rapport and precise message – “The Valley” is beautiful.

It’s a tossup as to which is better – Seifert’s high integrity vocals, or the lyrics. One of my favorite lines in “The Valley” is  her repeating you follow through. Now, on the surface you’re probably thinking, well, gee, I could write that too. I think why it stood out to me the most is because we live in a world and unfortunately sometimes even family doesn’t follow-through. It could be as easy as not returning a phone call or as heartbreaking as breaking a promise or vow. In her simplistic but poignant way of writing, Seifert calls to mind the consistency and power the Lord has for her. Now, if you’re not a fan of Christian music or identify with another religion, you might feel swayed by this inference (and she does mention Jesus) near the end of the song. I think this song is big enough for anyone to enjoy. I would caution anyone to pigeonhole this just because you might not be into a particular genre. The theme is universal and what better way to clear your mind and bring yourself peace, than music?

Seifert has a rousing voice that sounds so warm, yet there’s a ribbon of bluesy hues running right through the center. I can imagine this song being played outside at an amphitheater. I just felt like it was an outdoor song and that it possessed a natural, organic wind or almost the way it breathed in-and-out like a living creature. The dance happening in-between Seifert’s cadence and the melodic piano tones is humble. It’s also gorgeous. I like how this song isn’t boastful or over the top. She’s grateful for getting through the darkness and can see the light. I felt that transition in her voice and the contentment she now feels. This is absolutely poetry in motion.

Seifert hails from South Florida. If you listen carefully, I think she adds a bit of that Florida sun into the piano keys. Additionally, she gives her all. “The Valley” is truly one of the most authentic songs I’ve come across in months. I couldn’t be more enthused. Seifert has a promising career ahead of her, and I think this is just the very beginning. “The Valley” should launch Seifert into the next level of awareness and success. Something tells me she’s already feeling quite fulfilled and that this is just that expression of her love. Success has been achieved. “The Valley” brought joy and happiness to my day.
