Exclusive Interview with Blooming Fire

Hello Blooming Fire! Thank you for speaking with me today!

What was a childhood dream of yours?I always knew I wanted to travel and see different parts of the world. I was always interested in the way that different places have different esthetics and vibes, and I just love adventure all around. Falling into the dream of making music to have fun and connect people and make a change just so happens to go perfectly with travel and adventure.

Who do you turn to when you need someone the most?

Luckily us as a band, we’re more of a family rather than just a band. We hang out together, we eat together, we go on basically all our trips together, we have each other’s backs. Long answer short is our family unit. We all do a really good job of lifting each other up when one of us is down.

What was the first song you remember playing on repeat that made you want to get into music?      –

For all of us we were lucky enough to grow up with music always around us. We all had rockers in the family, and people who just genuinely loved music. I remember jamming out in my whitey tighties playing air guitar with my dad to Stevie Ray Vaughan. I remember looking at all the cd cover art for The Butthole Surfers, Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam in my dad’s Tahoe growing up. The Butthoke Surfers one always made me cringe because it was a kid with a pencil stuck in his ear. Then as I grew up somehow magically hip hop music found me. I remember one of my mom’s best friends kids Al and Michael showed me Outkast, Ludacris, Eminem, 50 Cent and was instantly hooked. When I was starting to get a little older I realized that music is what I wanted to do because I was seeing how much fun Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa were having with life and just making fun music. So I’d have to definitely say that the early Mac like K.I.D.S and Best Day Ever and the early wiz like Kush and Orange juice, Cabin Fever, and Rolling Papers were what really made me want to make much even though music was always in my life.

Tell us a story that you laugh about with your friends till this day.

That’s a hard one because there will always be so many different stories to laugh about. Most I don’t even remember till something sparks that memory. One I personally can always remember bringing up with my best friend Dick is when we were in high school we lived very close to each other and our other buddy Kyle and we all had different color Ford rangers. So it was always hilarious when all three of us would pull up to our secret smoke spots and it would be 3 different colored rangers. One time Dick and I were running late for school but we also both needed gas. Not knowing that about each other prior to seeing each other we both pulled up to the same gas station, well the only gas station, in our small town to rush and get gas and we see each other, and yell out at each other “race ya there!” We both hopped in our trucks and raced to school going probably about no joke 80 in these little trucks down these side roads and made a 15 minute drive into a 10 or less minute drive. We hopped out and ran inside the school to look at each other as we made it right in time and said ” See ya after school hahaha”

What is your favorite part of the music industry?

The best part about music in general is the connection that it brings so I guess the music industry can just sky rocket that with exposure to more people hopefully connecting people that may not have connected before. The more people reached hopefully the more people changed!

What’s your least?

We’ve come to find an understanding and love for social media, but it’s definitely hard to come into wanting to make music because you love to make music just to realize you have to put just as much energy or even more into social media if you want to make a break through and start connecting with people. Not many artists may know how much they have to put into that in order to be successful whatever that means for them.

What is a project you’re working on right now?

We’re always writing new music and perfecting it, getting ready to record and tour. The most recent project we’ve worked on is a four video visual ep experience for our Last ep Dunia. We busted our butts to get all the filming done before one of our vocalists Ian needed to get his shoulder surgery. It’s going to be a video for each of the four songs put into one big 30 minute short film. Our good buddy Nate has been working extremely hard to finish editing and we are so excited to be able to share that with you guys here soon.
