Brad Paisley Tributes the Capitol of Country in ‘City of Music’

Brad Paisley tributes the capitol of country in the just-released “City of Music,” praising the colorful characters who make Nashville what it is.

Filled with the never-failing optimism of Music City itself, Paisley offers up a new anthem to a place where dreams come true.

Co-written by Paisley with Lee Thomas Miller and Ross Copperman, the up-tempo twang-rocker is an ode to the unsung heroes of Nashville, adding to the town’s mystique. Hopeful stars arrive by the busload but there’s always room for more, Paisley sings — and you never know who could be serving your drink, or selling you some boots.

Paisley’s signature guitar style is on full display, along with his bright and buoyant vocal presence, and the longtime country hero says he’s never lost faith in what Nashville represents.

“This is City Of Music,” he writes on social media. “I love this town. Hope you can tell.”

“Tell the truth, play some chords / Pay your dues and praise the Lord / Cadillacs and 4x4s / It’s the city of music / This ain’t no Big Apple or La La Land / Harlan drank right where you stand / Tell the bouncer you’re with the band / It’s the city of music,” it goes.

Brad Paisley shared the new track in a social media video of himself driving around the outskirts of Nashville, and recently launched his Tour 2021. The hit maker co-headlined the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, Florida, rocking a crowd for the first large-scale festival to take place since the pandemic struck.

His next stop will be Nashville’s 4th of July celebration, Let Freedom Sing!, and tickets for the rest of his dates — which run through October 9 in Irvine, California, with Jimmie Allen and Kameron Marlowe — are available now. A portion of proceeds from each ticket sold will go to Paisley’s non-profit grocery store for those in need, Nashville’s The Store.
