Jillian Michaels Addresses The Backlash She Faced After Making Comments About Lizzo’s Weight (Video)

Fitness expert Jillian Michaels seems to have had a change of heart about the way she addressed Lizzo’s weight. If you recall, last January, Jillian appeared on Buzzfeed’s morning show ‘AM to DM.’ During the show, the interviewer stated she admired Lizzo and model Ashley Graham for being a part of the body positivity movement. Jillian’s responded, saying, “Why are we celebrating her body? Why does it matter? Why aren’t we celebrating her music? ‘Cause it isn’t going to be awesome if she gets diabetes.”

The innanet didn’t appreciate Jillian’s comments, and she quickly trended online and received major backlash. Jillian cleared the air on a recent episode of the ‘The Carlos Watson Show.’ She made it clear that she didn’t bring up Lizzo, to begin with. Jillian said she went wrong when she didn’t separate an individual from the conversation about health.

However, she is standing firm on her stance to tell the truth about obesity. “Obesity is just unhealthy — that’s it,” she said. “And it has no merit on the quality of the human. They’re not connected. They’re two totally separate issues.” She continued, “So the fact that these things have become interwoven in some bizarre, politically correct alternate universe is an absolute shame. Because we’re not doing anyone any favors.”

While Lizzo’s weight continued to be discussed on social media, Akbar V tweeted some encouraging words for Juice singer. Akbar told Lizzo not to let anyone drive her into depression. Lizzo stepped into The Shade Room and responded, Preach. More hit records on the way.”

Roomies, what y’all think about this?
